Steam baseline
For Steam, both minimum and recommended settings use 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, DirectX 12, 10 GB of available storage, and 16 GB of memory. Matching those values does not guarantee identical performance on every machine; it gives you the baseline for the Steam demo.
The game supports full controller input and six interface languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. A controller feature is not a performance guarantee. If the demo behaves differently on your hardware, record the Windows version, graphics configuration, input method, and the route where the issue appeared before sending feedback.
Epic Games Store baseline
For Epic, the minimum configuration uses Windows 11, 12 GB of memory, DirectX 12, and 10 GB of storage. The recommended configuration keeps Windows 11, DirectX 12, and 10 GB, while raising memory to 32 GB. Keep these values separate from the Steam configuration instead of combining the lowest memory number with the other storefront’s operating system.
Use the Epic column when you plan to play the Epic version and the Steam column when you are using the Steam demo. Whichever route you choose, leave more free storage than the listed game footprint when possible so Windows and the storefront have room for updates and temporary files.
What a requirement can and cannot tell you
These requirements are a compatibility gate, not a frame-rate promise. They do not describe every graphics preset, background application, driver version, or laptop thermal limit. Meeting the listed memory and API values means your machine matches the baseline; it does not replace testing the actual demo. A player with a machine near the minimum should close unnecessary applications and compare the result in a quiet route before judging a demanding encounter.
Steam Deck and other handheld playability can vary with the device, settings, and build. There is no universal certification. Record the exact device and settings if you test it. The safest check for your setup is a repeatable route, a stable graphics configuration, and a note of when a problem appears.
Input and language details
The game supports full controller input. Mouse and keyboard may still feel more convenient in the demo while the input surface is refined, so try the method you intend to use and keep a second method available for troubleshooting. That makes feedback about an interaction easier to separate from a hardware or mapping issue.
The current PC language list is English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. A translated guide can help you plan without changing the game’s interface language list. Use the language that makes route and build decisions easiest to understand.
A short preflight before playing
First choose the storefront you will use, then compare its operating system, memory, DirectX 12 support, and free storage with the matching table. Update the graphics driver and leave room for installation or patches. Start with the recommended input method for your setup, make a note of the graphics preset, and test a short village-to-forest route before drawing conclusions from one busy encounter.
If the result is unstable, change one variable at a time. Record whether the issue is a launch failure, a visual problem, an input problem, or a performance drop after a particular route. That information is more useful to the community than a single “runs” or “doesn’t run” label. Requirements can change with later builds, so check the current storefront details before you test again.
Compare the right storefront column
The 16 GB Steam requirement differs from Epic’s 12 GB minimum and 32 GB recommendation, while Steam uses Windows 10/11 64-bit and Epic uses Windows 11. Select the storefront first, then read minimum and recommended as a pair. If you are deciding where to buy or download, use the requirements for that platform.
A table cannot tell you whether the game will feel comfortable on a particular laptop. Cooling, drivers, background applications, display resolution, and graphics settings all matter. Use the requirement as a preflight gate, then test the actual village and forest route. If the result is poor, report the exact store, device, settings, and symptom so another player can understand the comparison rather than infer a guarantee from one number. The 10 GB storage line is only the listed game footprint, not a promise that an update needs no extra working room. Leave spare capacity for installation files, patches, and the operating system. For memory, read the values with the platform attached: Steam’s 16 GB pair and Epic’s 12 GB minimum or 32 GB recommendation describe different storefront checks, not a universal performance scale. Check input and language separately from performance. Full controller support means the game accepts that method; it does not say every menu feels identical to mouse and keyboard. The six listed interface languages are a current feature boundary, while a translated guide changes only how you plan. When reporting a problem, include whether it appeared on keyboard, controller, or a handheld layout so the next test isolates the right variable.
